We Got Married!

Been Married For:
Dear Friend,
(This is Paul writing on behalf of both of us.)
Since Kate and I’ve been together since 2015, there were many holidays, birthdays, and anniversaries that we spent apart, due to personal, work, or military obligations. But whenever we were physically far apart, our hearts were still so close together. In the same sense, though you may not be able to attend our wedding due to the great distance, I know that you, my friend, are happy for us and our wedding. Thank you for being that person.
As Kate and I make the wedding vow to each other, we have one prayer request. And if you don’t believe in God, just yet, please wish us one thing: That we may be truthful and faithful to our vows.
We are making our wedding vows according to the Holy Scripture (which ought to be believed and obeyed[1]), and it tells me this: “to love my wife just as Christ loved the church.[2]”
I have a very long way to go to understand Christ’s love, but I know one thing. That Christ told the church to: “be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.[3]” I don’t have a single doubt about this statement, and I want to be as trustworthy to Kate as Christ was to his church. Please be our lifelong support and witness.
We cannot fully express how grateful we are to have a friend like you in our lives. A long time ago, a man (whose name was also Paul) wrote this to his beloved friends: “I thank my God every time I remember you.[4]” I don’t think I can express it better than that Paul.
Thank you for your support, encouragement, and show of care and love for us. You make us better.
With gratitude and love,
Paul & Kate
